Brompton Electric Updates

18/1/2022

Brompton have announced a few FOC updates to their Electric range; see the original post here.

"BROMPTON ELECTRIC UPGRADES Brompton is committed to continually improving and evolving all of our products.

It's through this continual improvement loop that we have developed two important upgrades to the design of our Brompton Electric bikes, that will both improve the performance of the bike and further extend its lifetime.
Our community of riders and their experience using a Brompton is of the utmost importance to us, which is why we’re offering free upgrades on all Brompton Electric bikes, globally.
WHAT ARE THE UPGRADES?
 Battery
The battery catch has been modified to reduce the movement between the battery and the bike. This minimises battery disconnections, prolonging the life of the electronics and improving ride experience.
 New mudguard stay
The updated stay geometry increases clearance between the mudguard and tyre to improve performance on non-paved surfaces.
WHICH BIKES REQUIRE AN UPGRADE?
Brompton Electric bikes with the serial number 2111030089 or below, which do not have the grey battery catch already fitted, can benefit from this upgrade.
Brompton Electric bikes with the serial number 2111030089 or higher, which already have a grey battery catch fitted, do not need an upgrade.
HOW CAN YOU GET THE UPGRADES?
We are suppling all Brompton Junction and Brompton Electric Accredited Retailers with stock to perform this upgrade. This stock is due to arrive during the week commencing 24th January 2022.
You can get both upgrades to your Brompton Electric by booking an upgrade appointment with your local Brompton Junction or Brompton Electric Accredited Retailer. Find your closest store and contact them directly to make this appointment."
